When its comes to food, it concerns us!

About

The Singapore Polytechnic Food Connoisseur Club was founded in the year of 2008 by students Darrell Tan and Justin Ross Clarke.

The birth of the club was inspired over lunches outside school during long breaks with a group of friends within the early year of 2007.  During the course of lunch, Justin encountered something which he had never eaten before in his life. It was then in jest that perhaps they should actually create a club in the school whereby they could expose other students to various types of food all over Singapore that are either unique or good. Darrell decided not to dismiss this idea as casual talk, due to being overwhelmed by his passion for food and thus went on to create the club along with Justin, spending a great deal of time weekly at SAA (now formerly known as Department of Student Development).

The SPFCC was finally officially approved in the year of 2008, with  a total of 300plus members within 4 days of the cca drive. Darrell became the president, along with Justin becoming the vice-president. The club primarily begun with food reviews, complete with mouth-tantalising pictures to be posted on the website. The criteria for the food to be reviewed was that they either had to be really unique in terms of taste or design or simply the fact that they really taste good. The SPFCC thus went on with column contributions to a campus publication known as FULLSTOP under the kind invitation from Ms Kai Tamin-Goh, director of the department of corporate communications. Of which, there is a bi-annually contribution to the SP Alumni Network (SPAN) newsletter. In the late part of 2008, we

From food reviews, the club expanded to cater for the masses. We  took on the slogan of  “When it comes to food, it concerns us!”.
